I believed Smart covers is first marketed by the late Apple Steve Jobs in 2011 when the iPad is first revealed.
These 2 videos should make us really miss Steve Jobs presentation of new products. He still lives in our heart.
Covers are no longer the same after the smart cover. It is make of leather, metal clip and magnet strips that allows the sleep wake function.
